Uviwe Child & Youth Services
Our world looks different today. Yesterday is gone, tomorrow is unknown. Yet every child still deserves an opportunity to be happy, educated, healthy and safe. UVIWE's #LeaveNoChildBehind campaign is about ensuring that vulnerable kids from low-income communities are not forgotten or left behind as victims during & beyond the Covid-19 pandemic. The urgent action we take now can prevent the pandemic from becoming a lasting crisis for vulnerable children. From first steps to first job.
THE CHANGE WE WANT TO SEE
Every Child Is Safe
UVIWE’s four community centres create safe spaces for at-risk children to learn & grow. The centres provides a child friendly space, away from the violence in the street and households.
Every Child Is Healthy
Many children come from households living below the food poverty line. Nutrition support and health risk assessments are critical from the child’s early development years.
Every Child Is Educated
From first step to first job. UVIWE implements the cradle to career development model. We therefore focus on integrated, holistic development of each child.
Every Young Adult Is Employed
Young people who dropped out of school, fell pregnant at a young age, or failed at school are often “forgotten” and left behind.
Every Child Is Heard
UVIWE’s Leave No Child Behind Campaign is about ensuring that these kids are not forgotten, unnoticed or their voices left unheard – during and beyond the pandemic.
Make A Difference
As one nation we need to come together like never before. Let us not leave the most vulnerable, our children behind. Covid-19 should not be a death sentence for children.
